Understanding shortfalls

The criticality analysis works by identifying the shortfalls that occur when a segment is taken out of service. Depending on the type of analysis, different indicators of shortfall (i.e. drop in system performance) are used. The types of indicators of shortfall for each type of analysis are summarized in the table below.
